SignalFive was approached to develop a Flash site for a New York City agency called INTRAKT. The client had the design and concept for how the site should function — what they needed was some heavy lifting on the Actionscript and implementation. The challenge involved implementing the client's creative vision for the way that the design should translate into an Interactive Experience.
We gathered the assets and had initial meetings with the client. The client's request was that the site be modern and clean, but with a very edgy, hip feel to it. The elements, including a stop-motion piece, had to be animated and properly sequenced so that the user would be pleasantly surprised with some of the sections.
Additionally, the client had to be able to update most of the site, such as the Jobs, Corporate bios, Portfolio, and Contact sections. We created a bespoke solution utilizing content management of individual documents that tie directly into the various sections of the site, making it easy to update one, or all, sections at a time.
SignalFive created a unique system for the Portfolio sections of the site where the client can effortlessly add finished pieces that plug into an 'animation engine'; The portfolio pieces all live within an environment where the client can add or subtract items without having to touch any code. They can easily copy-and-paste portfolio items from one section to another with a minimal effort. This allows INTRAKT to post and curate new work quickly and efficiently, in order to highlight their design and branding capabilities.
The INTRAKT project demonstrates SignalFive's ability to tackle complex Flash animation in a data-driven site. The client launched their business in summer 2009 and got off to a strong start thanks to a custom Flash site that highlights their creativity and branding prowess.
